Thomas Fillary is based in Mapua, near Nelson in the South Island. He assists customers in the food & beverage and timber processing industries, and specialises in IAWPS cycle chemistry guidelines for boiler systems as well as Legionella risk management.
Thomas has a background in manufacturing, holding process engineering and production management positions in the pulp and paper industry at Norske Skog Tasman, and the wood panel industry at Nelson Pine Industries in New Zealand. He has also had involvement with infrastructure projects in the UK, working for the engineering consultancy Parsons Brinckerhoff.
His experience in Legionella risk management has seen him work as an independent consultant, completing risk assessments of industrial cooling systems. He now manages the chemistry of one of the only industrial boilers in New Zealand that prescribes to IAWPS cycle chemistry guidelines.
Over the past 5 years Thomas has specialised in the industrial water treatment industry, managing the treatment of utilities water for a range of industries. Currently, he is in charge of the treatment of a number of large scale dairy sites in New Zealand. When not at work, Thomas enjoys spending time in the outdoors, either mountain biking or on a stand up paddle board.
